Commitments and Actions for Building Resilience Across African Cities: Action Document

Developed through the African Continental Dialogue Symposium on Urban Resilience in African Cities, this Action Document presents a shared vision and set of commitments for advancing urban resilience across the continent. 

The document highlights the interconnected challenges facing African cities, including rapid urbanisation, climate and environmental risks, inequality, infrastructure gaps and limited institutional and financial capacities. It outlines eight priority areas for action, covering governance and planning, finance and investment, capacity and skills, technology and data, nature-based solutions, community resilience and informality, equity and inclusion, and learning and exchange. Together, these priorities provide a framework for promoting African-led, locally driven and people-centred approaches to urban resilience.
